Unbelievable stay in a breathtaking historical workhouse in beautiful countryside. I had the whole place to myself and it wasn't creepy at all, even as a scaredy cat! The bus dropped me right outside, and there's a great Spar shop, launderette, and pubs/cafes within walking distance. The on-site museum and guided tour were mind-blowing, and the artistic atmosphere made me feel right at home. The friendly staff and safe environment were a huge plus for a solo female traveler like me. With easy access to local walks and lakes, this bunkhouse stay is an absolute steal!

This place was definitely different, I'll give it that. The history of the building was pretty cool to learn about, and the guided tour was the highlight of my stay. Plus, it's in a really amazing location - beautiful countryside all around, with easy access to local walks and lakes. Oh, and the staff were really friendly too!

I gotta be real, this place had some downsides. First off, I froze my butt off in the rooms.

I had the most incredible experience staying at this historic workhouse in Llanfyllin. Being the only guest, I had the whole place to myself which was both unique and not creepy at all. The location is stunning, surrounded by lovely countryside and with easy access to local walks and visits to the Lakes and Llangollen/Welshpool. The staff were very friendly and made me feel safe as a solo female traveler. The artistic atmosphere added to the charm of the place. The on-site museum about the history of the Workhouse was fascinating and the guided tour was the highlight of my holiday break. The village is within walking distance and has great facilities for shopping and eating out. The Bunkhouse stay offers good value for money and has a lot of potential. If you're looking for an unusual place to stay, I highly recommend Workhouse - Y Dolydd in Llanfyllin.

Blankets to the Rescue: I cannot lie. it was freezing! But fear not, dear traveler, for this unique establishment has an abundance of cozy blankets. They swaddled me in warmth, transforming me into a snug burrito. I slept like a hibernating bear, unaffected by the cold outside.

    Chilly Bathrooms.

The dormitory room at Llanfyllin Workhouse was cozy and comfortable, with a homely seating area. The shared bathroom was clean and convenient for our family. We loved the outdoor dining area, perfect for enjoying meals while taking in the beautiful garden views. The kitchen in the room was a great amenity, allowing us to prepare meals during our stay. Having a toaster in the room was a nice touch, making breakfast a breeze. The addition of an oven was fantastic, allowing us to cook some delicious meals together.

Personally, I would have preferred a private bathroom, but I understand that shared facilities are part of the hostel experience.
